My weekend sounded so much better two days ago, now it just seems old and boring, but I'll give it a-go.
Okay, after the visit at the cemetery, we went to my Mom's house and chatted a while. She went with Aaron and I to paint pottery last week, so I took her the piece she painted. She painted a tear drop shaped bowl, with a dragonfly in it. It was really nice. Sorry, but I don't have a picture of it.
Mr. H and I went home and watched K.nocked U.p. I heard good reviews about it and my Mom got it from N.etflix, so I borrowed it from her. It was really funny. I don't think it was an award winning movie, but it made me laugh a few times :-) Have any of you seen this movie? I liked all but one part of the movie- where she is giving birth and you can see the baby crowning. They show her bagina! Okay, I know it's not really HER "v", but it was still a little gross, unexpected for sure and slightly inappropriate. Don't you think?
On to Sunday...I was completely lazy all damn day (which was so nice) until I met so friends at the book store for coffee and gossiping ...err, I mean catching up. It was fun! and so nice to get away from home and out of my jammies. My weekend may not sound that exciting to you, but it felt good to do something together and it was relaxing.
Also, this was not part of my weekend, but the other lady of the 14 month old (LD) emailed to let me know they wanted to hire me as their nanny! Yeah- I'm so excited. I didn't think they would hire me because if the spanish thing, but I'm glad they did. I will start that job February 11th after I return home from seeing my Grandma. I will take care of the 4 kids tonight. I'm a little apprehensive about that one. I don't know how it will be. I only have to really watch them for an hour or so until they go to bed, but I don't know what to do for the other 4+ hours. They don't have cable, and I don't want to access any personal stuff from their computer, so I guess I'll have to take a book. I'm not a reader. Maybe this job will force me to be. Wish me luck!

Monica, congrats on the job! That is such great news. Good luck with the 4 kids, I hope it goes o.k.
I would never watch that movie, or anything to do with pg. But I heard it was good and very funny.
Wow, I cannot believe you watched that movie!!! I completely avoided it even though it got good reviews. Something about a woman not even trying to get pregnant having a living baby... kwim?
I had so much fun on Sunday!! It was something we should do again. Especially the diaper change in the restroom. You are my, "wingman" on diaper blowouts for sure.
Oh, my Christmas present from my mom was this James Avery gold charm with a mother and child. Well my mom had it engraved and put on my charm bracelet.
Congrats on the job!!
Congratulations! I hope you really like the job and maybe you will learn some Spanish. Have you told your MIL & FIL you won't be helping them out anymore? Just wondering how she took it.
Neither myself nor Eric liked Knocked Up. Sure, there were parts that were funny, but overall it was a dud with us. Maybe it's the whole her getting preggo and actually having a baby to bring home kinda thing. Or maybe we were just tired when we watched it. Who knows.
Yeah congrats on the job...I thought the movie was funny.A little different at times, but still good.
Congrats on the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I saw the first half of Kn.ocked U.p but couldn't finish it...just didn't like it that much :-)
And good luck on the job! If I were you, I'd bring a laptop with a movie to watch or something for after the kids go to bed. Or if they have a wireless signal, you can get into their network and do Internet stuff--like blog about your evening! :-)
We haven't watched K.nocked U.p. I don't care to.
Yes, I enjoyed the coffee talk too. Must schedule more often!!
Congrats on the nanny job!!
Congrats on the job, I hope it relieves some stress for you.
Well, I watched the movie because I like Katherine Heigl (sp?) and because everyone kept saying how funny it was. Like I said before, it does not deserve an Oscar (is that the right award?), but it was funny. I know many of you avoid pregnancy related movies, but I find myself attracted to them. I don't seek them out, but I feel compelled to watch them. Maybe because I'm obsessed with getting pregnant, that I'll watch these movies so I can "feel" what they are even if it is in the movies. I just want it. I want what these women have, so I watch them. It's like watching "A Baby Story" when your infertile. Don't tell me you haven't done that.
Thanks for the congrats. I don't want to blog about the kids I care for. This is a pregnancy loss blog and to speak of someone else's kids would suck if that's what this turned into. But if you want to know more, just email me. The kids were great (kinda) and I went home exhausted. The end. And I'd love to take a laptop with me, but I don't have one :-(
As for telling my MIL that I won't be working for her: That's not going to happen. Mr. H and I are both on the payroll together. We get one check monthly regardless of what we do. I did tell her I got a couple sitting jobs, but all of them combined still only equal a PT job. What I do for them is PT too, so to me it doesn't really make a difference. We'll see if it makes a difference to her (although I don't think it will). I'll still be able to do the kind of things she asks me to.
Congrats on the job! Glad it went well. It is exhausting caring for other peoples kids, seriously.
I too, could not watch knocked up. Not ready to look at pregnancy that lightly I guess.
Congrats on the job! I'm glad that you got it. I'm glad to hear that it went ok.
Like you, I'm obsessed with anything pregnancy related. So I went to the movies, saw it, and went home and cried. Each time I see it, I feel differently. His friends are a bit obnoxious, but Derick thinks they are amusing. I also watch A Baby Story and EVERY show like it. I can't help it. It's an obsession.
Anyway, I'm glad that you had a good weekend and got to get out a little. Sometimes that's all we need.
