Re: An Anonymous Comment

Dear Anonymous,

I have never visited that sight before, but I just did and it did not bring me encouragement. Maybe when I hold my living children in my arms and I have time to reflect upon it, it will. Hopefully it will help others, but not me, not now. Thanks for trying though.

I am a believer in God- in Jesus to be more exact, but I don't think he makes decisions for us. I think he leads us to make our own decisions- right or wrong. He equips us with the knowledge to know the difference.

This post is not about my faith. It is about me thinking my aunt is ignorant. And by ignorant I do not mean stupid or wrong- I mean misinformed; without knowledge.

She is one to pray to God and rely on him for all things. That's great for her, but if she is such a believer and a do-gooder then why does she send me such awful hate emails about other people? *That* is NOT a Christian thing to do.

And I have a hard time believing that God told her to send me that email. I have a hard time believing that God says it's okay for her to act that way, though she says she's just being "an advocate". Advocates of God, whether trying to sway your vote on a political candidate or trying to talk you into going to Church should not be malicious. They should not belittle others in the process of making a point either.

If she doesn't like the current president-elect, that's fine. That's her opinion. She doesn't have to agree with his views, (and neither do you). She can stand proud knowing she didn't vote for him (just as I did when "W" was elected), but don't call the man a terrorist because he had roommates in college from Pakistan. That, my friend is low and unGodly.

I shouldn't be surprised anymore that religious belief is not indicative of character.

I consider myself a Christian, at least most days, but I have to say that I find many people who profess to be Christians the most judgmental, name-calling, racist and phobic people I have ever met, while many "non-Christian" or "non-practicing Christian" are the kindest, least likely to judge individuals around.

Makes you think, doesn't it?

Couldn't agree more...

I agree with you Monica. I have a lot more to say about this topic...I feel a post coming on (when I am feeling up to it...who knows when that will be).

Well written my friend.

Hey, it's me again...

I couldn't agree more that there are plenty of people (including Christians) in this world who prove to be judgmental and ungodly. I also (obviously) agree that your aunt was in the wrong to send hateful, racist, rude, degrading emails/forwards.

As a Christian this especially frustrates me b/c, although I'm nowhere near perfect, I strive to live my life set apart and in a way that would not cause anyone to stumble/question whether or not I'm a Christian.

I could go on and on, but I don't think anyone really cares. : )

Sorry for any miscommunication...

I have read your last couple of posts and I have one thing to say.....

You are awesome and I totally love you!

You articulated so well what I have wanted to say to alot of people alot of times.

Amen sister!

by the way.....I LOVE OBAMA! I have gotten tons of grief over it too....I work as a nurse in a large doctor's office (so of course they all supported mccain - because they are rich.....and he supports rich people - but anyway, I got tons of grief about it).

Also, I get tons of stupid comments from people - they say things "in the name of religion" but really they are just stupid, ignorant comments that have a hurtful undertone.

Thanks for saying what so many of us couldn't find the words for.

You are my hero of the moment!

Just wanted to say to stated your side very well. I couldn't open 'that site's' link & now am curious...

Thinking of you...

Kristi- I fixed the link.

For some reason, the last few links I have done don't work. Blogger adds extra words to the link and even when I fix it, they reappear. But, alas, it's fixed now. I double, and triple checked.

It's a lovely website, but it unfortunately provides no encouragement for me.

Monica, I forgot to mention that I'll be praying for you this week. I'm sure it will be a tough one with LD's mom having the baby.

Thinking of you...

(My name is Shannon by the way)

Shannon,

Thank you...she still hasn't had the baby. If she doesn't have him by this week, she'll be induced next Tuesday. I'm just a ball of nerves right now!

It drives me crazy on how people explain their actions by invoking God's name. The crusades were a 'holy' war, the terrorists who rammed airplanes into buildings also invoked God's name...I could go on forever...
I agree with you, I don't beleive God makes the decisions for us, but he does give us a role model (Jesus) to follow. But ultinately God allows us to just be, this is what is called freewill. People need to own up to their own actions if you ask me.

How do these weirdos find our blogs? Ok, at least she put her name. Sorry you aren't a weirdo, but God shouldn't tell you who to vote for. I believe in God and I know that he believes in me as a person and he is ok with my choice on candiates. (and he was ok with those who chose mccain).
Monica, my cousin also sent me anti-obama email. She is really my cousin but prefers I call her 'aunt'. Uh, you aren't my aunt. She is that psycho. hahaha
I haven't seen any anti-mccain emails.
