For me, Earth Day isn't necessarily about recycling, reducing or reusing. It's about enjoying what surrounds us and celebrating the planet we live on.
2007- We planted a flowering Bradford Pear tree for the boys.
2008- I photographed our Red Bud in full bloom.
2009- We hung a bird house in our Oak tree.

Hmmm, we went to breakfast with friends. I guess we also covered our grapevine so the birds couldn't get to it!
Mrs. M- sounds good to me!
Got lots of those re-usable shopping bags...
I hope that I'm celebrating Earth Day a little every day by continuing to set good examples for my kids about our consumption and giving back in any way we can weather it is recycling plastic bags, discontinuing to use plastic bags, recycling even when I'm not at home, repurposing things, picking up trash on our walks, etc
We try to recycle the basics. We keep the recycling bins in the laundry room. Often I hand Ethan an empty milk jub & tell him we need to recycle it, he'll walk down the hall & put it in the bin!
I need to pick up my free re-usable grocery bag on Tuesday!
Oh yeah & DH is planting a big garden this year - I can't wait for fresh corn & tomatoes!
