Penguins, Elephants, and Dragonflies Oh My!

HinkaDinka! That's the name of my husband's imaginary friend (when he was a child, not a current friend). I think that is so cute and mighty creative. Now, why can't we think of a name for our bunny. We still call him baby bunny. He deserves a name, but it's just not coming to me. I don't like names like Snowball and Fluffy, and I don't want a name like Max either. I want a name that says something about his personality and why we got him. He's feisty and stubborn, cute and cuddly, playful and really smart. It seems the only names we can think of are really corny and cliche - Marshmallow (not my choice), Brulee', Oatmeal (Oatie for short-because he looks like it and he loves to eat it). I want to call him Finn or Finch after our nurse we had in the hospital who helped deliver Sam and watched over me when Jack was born. Her last name is Finch and I just love her. I don't know...

Also, I'm officially addicted to A.mazon.com. They have everything! I am really into elephants because they remind me of the boys, so I searched for elephants and numerous pages of zoo like fun produced. They have baby bedding titled Animal Antics and I love it and I want it now! It has elephants and penguins and dragonflies on it. Anyone who knows me, knows that is a prize combination. I am not pregnant and I don't know when I will be, but I want this for our future nursery. Some would say that's a little crazy, maybe even risky, but I can't help myself. We never decorated a nursery for the boys, and I want to be able to do that for our future children and personalize it for them when they come. I'm not going to paint the walls a baby pastel, or have the nursery fully decked out before I even get pregnant, but I want to have it and save it for when that special moment arrives. My husband did not tell me I could not order the bedding, but I'm sure he thinks I'm nuts. I have the web page minimized on my computer and I look at it every couple of days just to make sure I still like it. I don't want to make this an impulse purchase, so I'm going to think about it a little longer, then we'll see.

I like Finch - it reminds me of "To Kill a Mockingbird."

That bedding is adorable!! Hoping for the day you can confidently buy it & decorate the nursery.

What about Hazel? He was the leader of all the rabbits in Watership Downs. Well, just a suggestion anyway!

I love the bedding, too. Very cute. I totally understand what you mean about wanting to decorate a nursery. We didn't get to do it for Logan, and I'm too afraid to start buying stuff for this baby not knowing "if".

Ditto on Finch for what Kristi said. Too bad we don't wear the same size. I'd be willing to pay you for your red pea-coat and then you could turn around and order the bedding. I say buy it. But then, I do that kind of crap. I'd just hate to see something steal you heart and then you not be able to find it later. But have you thought about the possibility of getting pregnant with a girl? Is this something that is more about your boys or something you can use for a future pregnancy? Just wondering. You know I'm superstitions and I think sometimes when you do things, things happen as a result. I remember how ticked I was that it was taking so long to get pregnant with Jimmy (8.5 mos. and yes, in the grand scheme of things that's not long). I was so hoping for a boy. Well I was at the store and I saw this cute pink and denim dress. I bought it. I was pregnant that month. I think when I finally opened up to the possibility of having a girl it did something. Yeah, I'm crazy. Maybe by getting it, you are saying, "I have faith one day I'll have a baby". Can't wait to see you guys tomorrow!

The bedding to me is gender neutral. If I did end up having a girl, I would not buy her pink and purple bedding. I could always change out the bed skirt or paint the walls a "girlier" color. Besides I have all those wonderful elephants I've been collecting and they are multi colored, so they would accent the bedding perfectly. I don't know, I'm going to think about it a little longer but not too long or it will be gone and I won't be able to find it. BTW, it's only $133. I think that's a pretty good deal.

Wow! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that looks at bedding online. I tend to hide my obsession with baby nurseries from Derick because he probably thinks I'm crazy!!

I have two favorite sets...the first being a fireman set at Target.com and the other being a space themed set at Overstock.com

Do you also find that you turn more towards boy themed bedding than girls? Because I do. It's strange. I just can't picture myself with a girl. Of course I'll be ecstatic regardless...but you know...

We also didn't get to decorate a nursery, and we're moving into a new house in January. I've seriously considered having the nursery set up pre-baby although again, I think that would freak out my family. Haha!

BTW, I love the name Finch. I think it's a perfect bunny name. I also do love Hazel. But Finch is special.
